Move Hotel: a new form of hospitality just minutes from Venice

move-hotel

Peter Fershen’s architectural project opens its doors

The MOVE HOTEL in Mogliano Veneto, designed by South African architect Peter Fershen, opens on the 11th of April 2011. After 2 years of construction, the hotel, representative of affordable luxury, located between Venice and Treviso, opens to the public.

The MOVE HOTEL embodies the idea of a new form of hospitality connected to the concept of affordable luxury. The main structure, within its unique semicircular structure, includes the hotel, the Conference Center and the MOVE Wellness Center.

The architectural selections were made with particular attention to contemporary style. The interior design was realized by the participation of two highly prominent Italian designers: Studio Marco Piva and BAM Design who worked together to raise the standard of quality of the hotel and to define, with the word MOVE, a philosophy perfectly able to express the essential content of the local culture and the innovation of technological equipment present in the rooms and the public spaces of the hotel.

The modern and overwhelming design of the new MOVE HOTEL, whose key characteristics are convenience and captivation, welcomes guests in a highly picturesque atmosphere, where light and attention to detail play a dominant role.

The architectural preferences have not neglected the strong dominant nature that sees the main building, the Conference Center and the MOVE Wellness Center, completely immersed in a natural garden, which gives guests a pleasant feeling of warmth and appreciation for the environment.

The MOVE HOTEL has 203 rooms, including 18 suites, which have been furnished in harmony with the modernity of the structure. All the rooms are equipped with air conditioning, safe, mini bar, pay-per-view television and a 32’ flat screen full HD television set. The rooms are divided into three categories; MOVE Sport, MOVE Maxi and MOVE King.

The MOVE Sport rooms, with a size of 26 square meters are the ideal accommodation for those who love physical activities. In addition to standard services, they differ from other rooms because of the more convenient access to the MOVE Wellness Center and a large terrace with a view of the green spaces.

The MOVE Maxi rooms are 30 meters square and have an extra interior sitting room. This makes them an ideal accommodation for those who do not renounce the need for space, even while on the go.

The MOVE King category represents the suites of the hotel which have a surface area of 50 meters. They have two flat screen full HD television sets, and are decorated in perfect contemporary style, with particular attention to the details of the furniture, embellished by light-reflecting details created by Murano glass. The living room is separated by double doors where it is possible for guests to host their own visitors while maintaining their own privacy.

Minutes from the Venice and Treviso airports, is the Conference Center of the MOVE HOTEL, located in one of the three buildings designed by Fershen, located in the heart of the property. The

Center is accessible either from the hotel’s lobby or by a separate entrance and it is completely immersed in nature, surrounded by an artificial lake with fountains.

The conference area has ten rooms, each illuminated by natural light, with independent access, they are completely versatile depending on situational needs and the rooms can be combined for a maximum capacity of 800 people. The rooms are located on the ground floor and feature computer-controlled air conditioning, free Wi-Fi high-speed fiber optic connection in public spaces, large exhibit spaces, facilities for simultaneous translation and Conference System and Business Center.

The Conference Center is connected to the Banquet Hall, a very large and bright space that can host up to 200 people; the ideal setting for private events and dinner galas.

ARCO, the restaurant of the MOVE HOTEL, is managed by Padua-born Executive Chef Alessandro Tagliaferri. It is an esthetically pleasant, large space that can accommodate up to 500 guests, offering a gastronomic selection that favors local ingredients, promoting the idea of a zero-mile diet.

Adjacent to the lobby is the MOVE HOTEL Lounge Bar that welcomes guests with a large bar-island made of stone. It is visible and accessible both from the hotel lobby and the restaurant, ARCO. It is separated from the restaurant by an extensive backdrop with backlit bottle on display behind the bar.

A few meters from the main building of the MOVE HOTEL, and connected to it by a unique corridor made entirely of glass, is the MOVE Wellness Center; the ideal place for guests who love sports and indulging the body. This area has both external and internal spaces, entirely dedicated to relaxation including; a sauna, Turkish Bath, Kneipp showers, fitness room and Technogym equipment, all housed in an architectural space characterized by light colors and particularly relaxing equipment.

To celebrate the opening of the hotel, the MOVE HOTEL is offering the MOVE standard room at a special price starting at € 88 for the whole month of April and the first weeks of May.

sofitel

“At the table with the Chef” at Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese in Rome

Giuseppe D’Alessio, the new Executive Chef at “La Terrasse Cuisine & Lounge” since January, entices guests at Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese in Roma with his creative dishes. His menu is a perfect mix of Mediterranean scents and flavours which are in perfect harmony with the refreshing brisk weather of this time of year.

Through the use of products and raw materials from Campania, his homeland, Chef D’Alessio enhances all his creations with a tempting menu from appetizers to dessert that aims to please the senses of taste, sight and smell.

From this month on, D’Alessio unites the pleasure of making these incredible dishes to the pleasure of telling his guests the philosophical tales which are at the core of his gastronomic offer, through the new and interesting initiative entitled “At the table with the Chef”.

This is the perfect occasion to sit at the table with Giuseppe, taste his creations and be surrounded by stories of the making of his dishes and where he finds inspiration. For all those who love to eat well, this is a rare opportunity, not to be missed.

His meals range from appetizers such as “Burrata – butter filled soft southern Italian cheese - with tomato petal preserves and vegetable tempura” to “Millefoglie puff pastry with duck pate cutlet served with mashed potatoes and apples”, from “Pan-fried shrimp with green pepper and puntarelle salad with bacon and shellfish oil” to “Spello bean soup with calamari julienne and golden garlic croutons”.

There are three different versions to choose from for the first course: “Bio risotto Carnaroli”, Piedmont style, Milanese style or with pecorino cheese, zucchini and shrimp, “Kamut linguine with pesto sauce, scallops and pachino cherry tomatoes”, “Ravioli with squid ink and velvety fish”, or classic Roman dishes like “Bucatini all’amatriciana” or “Half shell rigatoni with carbonara sauce”.

A choice of either meat or fish is served as second course with emphasis on the chef’s passion for original combinations. D’Alessio’s seafood dishes include “Turbot fillet with red onion jam and orange sauce”, “Sea bass fillet with legumes potato soup and crustacean bisque emulsion, “Wild salmon steak with tiny squid, pachino cherry tomatoes and capers”. For the meat dishes: “Supreme organic chicken filled with smoked cheese and roasted vegetables”, “Beef tenderloin with spinach flan and mashed potatoes with sweet garlic” or “Lamb rack in pastry shell seasoned with couscous with tomato sauce and chickpea cream”.

The chef’s rich menu also offers the possibility to taste great Italian and French cheeses and to be tempted by “Parisienne”, a colorful tray of typical French sweets such as “Macaron” with rasberries or dark chocolate.  Desserts made on order are “All chocolate”, an incomparable “Giuseppe’s Cheeky tiramisu”, “Soft biscuit of dried fruits, cinnamon and coffee parfait” or “Exotic green tea fruit cocktail”.

Take an original light and tasty culinary trip to “La Terrasse Cuisine & Lounge”. Chef Giuseppe D’Alessio has made a significant gastronomical impression in less than two months at Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese with his unmistakable touch entirely dedicated to great Italian tradition but at the same time open to creative experiments from well-known French cuisine.
